The Microcosm in Glass is more than just a desk ornament, it's a true work of art and conversation starter.

Every piece features high-quality crystal glass (that will never yellow or scratch like cheaper plastic alternatives), artful illumination, intricate laser detailing, and unparalleled craftsmanship.

Each microorganism featured in our collection is a genuine scientific model, as valuable for educational purposes as it is worthy of admiration.

Every virus, bacteria, and cell featured in our glass collection is captured true-to-scale and replicated from genuine scientific models. Contrast and compare to:

  • Understand the different scale/sizes of microorganisms (for example, next to a virus a human egg cell would look about the size of a three-story building).
  • Understand the different scale/sizes of the cosmos! Throughout our glass art journey, we’ve shed light on the universe’s different cosmos—first the macro cosmos with stars and galaxies, and now the microcosmos with viruses, bacteria, and cells. Collect them all to journey through the cosmos with us.
    • 2017 Macrocosm (Universe Sphere)
    • 2018 Macrocosm (Milky Way Sphere)
    • 2019 Macrocosm/Mesocosm (Star Constellations in a Sphere)
    • 2020 Microcosm/Nanocosmos (Bacteria, Cells, and, Viruses)

From beginning to end, we’ve created a seamless educational experience that captures the imagination and showcases the hidden (and sometimes dangerous) beauties of the natural world. Gain the ability to accurately identify microorganisms by shape.

Our glass collection includes some of nature’s most fascinating microorganisms. Choose from:

 Erythrocytes

Erythrocytes are red blood cells. Formed in the bone marrow, these essential cells contain the protein hemoglobin and carry oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. A low level of Erythrocytes might be indicative of conditions such as anemia, malnutrition, and leukemia. The only vertebrate in the world with no erythrocytes is the crocodile ice fish!

Every Erythrocytes model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

 Human Cell

Your cells are essentially the building blocks of your body. They provide structure, take in nutrients from food, and convert those nutrients to energy along with performing other specialized functions. Every one of your cells contains your body’s hereditary material and can be used for things like DNA testing, genotyping, and determining genetic history. Within each cell are subcellular structures called organelles, which perform specific functions for the cell such as storing chemical energy and genetic information. In our detailed glass models, these organelles can actually be seen. You’ll be able to identify:

  1. Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
  2. Mitochondrion
  3. Golgi Apparatus
  4. Nucleus
  5. Lysosome
  6. Centriole

Every Human Cell model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube
  • 8 cm Sphere

 Neuronal Cell

Neurons are nervous system cells and are responsible for communicating with other cells via specialized connections called synapses. Your neurons are responsible for feelings like pain, and neuron-related disorders are amongst some of the most challenging conditions for modern science to fix. The most well-known of these is perhaps ALS, which involves the progressive degeneration of neurons over time. Fun fact: A single neuron cell can grow up to several meters in length!

Every Neuronal Cell model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

 Human Egg and Sperm Cell

The human egg cell is the largest human cell, and the sperm cell is the smallest human cell. When combined in the ampulla of the fallopian tube, their chromosomes fuse to begin the process of fertilization.

Every Human Egg and Sperm Cell model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube
  • 8 cm Sphere

Coronavirus

Coronaviruses are a category of viruses that typically affect mammals and birds. Prior to the discovery of COVID-19, only six strains of coronavirus were known to infect humans. Of these variations, four are mild and produce only cold-like symptoms. SARS, MERS, and COVID-19 are more deadly and known to produce more serious respiratory side effects.

  • Every Coronavirus model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:
  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

 SARS-CoV 2 (responsible for COVID-19)

The newest and most infamous of the Coronavirus family, SARS-CoV 2 (responsible for COVID-19) is thought to bind to epithelial cells in the nasal cavity and start replicating, leading to respiratory symptoms ranging from mild to severe. With over 4 million cases worldwide, the virus is the first of its family to infect humans on a pandemic level.

Every SARS-CoV 2 model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

Salmonella

Salmonella is a bacteria found in feces that can be transmitted to humans through the consumption of contaminated foods and reproduce in the intestinal tract. Salmonella infections typically mimic those of the gastrointestinal flu and resolve after a few days, but maybe deadly in immunocompromised individuals.

Every Salmonella model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

HIV

HIV is a retrovirus capable of copying RNA into DNA and using that copy to infect human cells. Once attached, HIV attacks the immune system—causing progressive immunodeficiency that allows other life-threatening infections to thrive.

Every HIV model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

Bacteriophage

Bacteriophages are the deadliest entities on earth, with up to 40% of ocean bacteria killed by them every single day. These highly specialized microorganisms choose one specific bacteria and some of its very close relatives to target, then use their unique structure to hijack cells with their own genetic material. Structurally, they almost look made up: Their head is an icosahedron (20 faces, 30 edges) that contains the genetic material of the virus and often sits on a long tail that has leg-like fibers.

Bacteriophages are under the microscope recently as a potential weapon against bacteria in response to the rise of the "superbug." Because they are so highly specialized and do not affect human cells, they could potentially work against multi-drug resistant strains of many bacteria.

Every bacteriophage model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube
  • 8 cm Sphere

Tardigrade (Water Bear)

Tardigrade, commonly referred to as “Water Bears,” are eight-legged micro-animals that often live in water or moss, but can also live on land. Tardigrade can survive on all seven continents and even on the moon—making them one of nature’s toughest creatures.

Every Tardigrade model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

 Helicobacter Pylori Bacteria + Bacteriophages

Helicobacter Pylori is a helically-shaped bacterium that can usually be found in the stomach.

In general, over 50% of the world’s population has H. pylori in the upper gastrointestinal tract with it being more common in developing countries. In all events, an H.pylori infection is usually asymptomatic but is also associated with gastritis or gastric ulcers. The bacteria adapted to survive the highly acidic environment of the stomach by burrowing into the mucus lining and producing large amounts of urease.

The Bacteriophages are true to scale to the bacterium and accurately represent the size difference between phages and bacteria.

Every Helicobacter pylori + Bacteriophages model includes a gift box and microfiber cleaning cloth and is available in your choice of the following sizes:

  • 3 cm Micro Cube
  • 7 cm Medium Cube
  • 10 cm Large Cube

The Microcosm in Glass is far from our first venture. In fact, we’ve produced and delivered on multiple successful campaigns. Here’s what our customers have to say about us:

The Microcosm in Glass is about as unique as it gets! We are the first and only creators of these works of art, and we have gone above and beyond to ensure that our pieces are beyond replication both in quality and in the craft. You may stumble across some cheap knock-offs out there, however. Here’s how we compare to those:

Trying to decide which crystal glass weight, shape, or size is best for you? Here’s the complete breakdown:

At CinkS Labs, we’re a team of innovators, inventors, artists, and dreamers. We love bringing nature's designs to the masses, and we’re passionate about delivering products that exceed our customers’ expectations.

We’re a small, family-run venture with several successful campaigns under our belts already! Our journey began in 2017 when our CEO and Founder, Clemens, initiated our first-ever campaign in hopes of financing his upcoming wedding.

The campaign was an unexpected success, and Clemens packaged and shipped over 4,000 models with the help of his brother and retired father.

Since then, we’ve launched and delivered on three more successful campaigns:

  • From the Universe (2017)
  • Across the Galaxy (2018)
  • To the Stars (2019)

Along the way, our team has grown to include more family and friends and we’ve received the support of notable scientists like astronomer Dr. Susanne Hoffmann.

We’re confident that our newest campaign, The Microcosm in Glass, will add even more beauty to your glass collection and maintain the high levels of excellence you’ve come to expect from us.

To improve our marketing and to make our image and strategy more professional, we hired Arora Project for the first time and we are very satisfied with this decision so far.
